The International Academy of Design & Technology program in fashion design and merchandising is demanding, technical, and comprehensive. Students enrolled in the Fashion Design & Merchandising program can learn about fashion illustration, pattern drafting, design, draping, clothing construction, textiles, fashion history, fashion merchandising, and production techniques. This career education program also focuses on the global fashion and merchandising industry focusing on market and trend research, design development, visual displays, sales and business practices and production management for the fashion industry. All of the instruction in the Fashion Design and Merchandising courses is presented using industrial grade equipment in spacious and comfortable facilities built for optimum fashion designing. A balanced curriculum can provide students with the expertise to design and communicate their ideas combining theoretical elements of fashion design with creative and practical approaches to the solution of problems pertaining to the functional quality of marketableproducts. A foundation in general education coursework rounds out the student's knowledge base and can help prepare them for fashion careers.
